Some Call Us Foodies, I Say We Are Lovers of Culinary Arts
I don’t know what, exactly, a foodie is. I mean, I know what people think it is, but I don’t really like the word. It sounds pretentious. And while I may consider myself a snob with many things, I don’t think I’m pretentious.
Instead, I consider us lovers of culinary arts. We love cooking and baking just as much as eating. I want to cook with produce that’s been tended with love — love of the soil, love of water, love of flavor. This means we seek out experiences with cooking and preparing foods when we travel.
